On water

In the area around Nibe, you will find beautiful angling waters both on the fjord, in the streams running through the hilly landscape and in put'n'take lakes. Visit for example Himmerlands Fiskepark, where you can fish trout and stay at the camp site. Remember to get a valid fishing license before you begin.

On land

The area around Nibe is perfect for biking. The landscape presents great views over the fjord as well as beautiful forests, fields and streams. Venture out without planning ahead, follow the marked bicycling routes or use a map found at the tourist agency in Nibe.

Limfjordsruten

Limfjordsruten runs for 610 km. from Hals in the east to Thyborøn in the west. On the road, you will find alternating nature. As the largest fjord area in Denmark, Limfjorden offers small islands, an abbundance of ferries, bridges, market towns and not least a diversified and exciting stretch of coast. Bicycle maps for this route can be bought at the local tourist agency.

Halkærruten

The bicycle route, Halkærruten has been established upon closed down tracks from the private railway of Nothern Jutland. The road is asphalt most of the way from Nibe all the way out to Havbro - however not from Aars and a bit out towards Havbro. It is an incredibly beautiful bike trip around Halkær ådal, don't miss it.

Vokslevruten

Vokslevruten is a round trip of 70 km., passing a number of geological locations. It follows roads with asphalt with minimal traffic and roads with separate bicycle paths. However, it also switches onto gravel roads and forest paths.

Naturstien Nibe-Hvalpsund

Naturstien Nibe-Hvalpsund is asphalted with a trail for walking and biking as well as a gravel road for horses. Following the stated roads, which is mostly asphalt will avoid heavily trafficked roads and guide you through a beautiful part of Western Himmerland.
