At the animals place…

If you love animals, Aalborg Zoo is worth a visit. Aalborg Zoo is lovely green garden, where you will get close to around 1,600 exciting and threatening animals from all over the world.. 

Here you can, among others, see the beautiful polar bears, both over and under water - or visit the great African Savannah with the tall and impressive giraffes. Please remember to say hallo to the monkeys, the elephants, the hippopotamus, surikats, the bears, the wolves and all the other animals in Aalborg Zoo. And do not forget our playground and to visit the friendly goats. 

See the racing horses in action

At Aalborg Væddeløbsbane, you can see the impressive racing horses in action and experience the intense atmosphere among the audience, when it is determined, if it is your horse who crosses the finish line first. During the season, you can also find pony trotting for children. At the race track, you can also find the youth horse sports union Ikaros. This union is for young people between the ages of 7 and 16 years and works with racehorses. You will also find a playground at Aalborg Væddeløbsbane.

Go fishing in the middle of Aalborg

Do you like to fish? Then throw your line in and see what the season and luck brings you. From Aalborg’s quays it is permitted to fish from the quayside. Here you can catch garfish, herring, eel, cod, trout and flatfish. Close to Aalborg you will also find both put and take lakes and free fishing areas. If you bring mom and dad, then remember that they need to bring a fishing license.

Take a swim in Aalborg

If you want to swim directly in the Limfjord, there is a wooden pier placed just outside Friluftsbadet and at the harbor near Jomfru Ane Parken. Here you will find Aalborg Harbour Pool, where you can swim in the Limfjord - it also has a seesaw both 3 and 5 meters and moreover a play - and children basin.

Enjoy the nature in Aalborg

Close to Aalborg you will find the cosy island Egholm. By following the yellow path around Egholm, you will pass many of the islands exciting localities.  

Beside the rich wild life and flora, you will be able to see Egholm from above from certain vantage points. On the island you will moreover find a child friendly beach which is perfect for fishing crabs and to find mussels, starfish and many other exciting things you will find at the beach.

Østerådalen is a perfect place for a walk. The area has a rich bird life by the shallow lakes and winding stream. Visit the bird tower, go for a walk or a run on the marked routes, or bring your dog to the dog walking area, where you can let him run without a leash and play with other dogs.
