Close to the beach at Blokhus and in a forest is the amusement park, Fårup Sommerland. In 2015 and 2016, Fårup Sommerland was voted the second best amusement park in Europe. You’ll find everything from wild roller coasters and children's amusement parks to Denmark's largest and wettest water world! You can also stay overnight at Hotel Fårup.

Wild roller coasters at Fårup Sommerland

The forest is full of speeding roller coasters. “The Hurricane” roller coaster is the only one in Scandinavia that goes both above and BELOW the water! To begin with, “the Hurricane” (Orkanen) takes you up to a seven-storey height, then at 75km an hour you speed down under the water and continue scarily close to trees and bushes - while your feet dangle in the air! You can also experience Denmark's fastest acceleration on “the Lightning” (Lynet) roller coaster, which shoots from zero to 80km an hour in just two seconds. The ride then goes up and down in wild loops and break-neck hairpin bends. Or how about a ride on “the Falcon”, Denmark's fastest wooden roller coaster?

Denmark's largest water world

In the park you’ll also find Denmark's largest heated water park, where the whole family can enjoy the wild waves in the Wave Pool (Bølgebassinet), whizz down Surfhill or ride together in the huge rings of “the Water Snake" (Vandslangen). You can also try the "Water Canon” (Vandkanonen) - the world's first outdoor water slide with a free fall and two loops. You start at the top, high up in a small cubicle. A moment later, the floor disappears beneath you and you whizz down a closed tube, continuing at high speed further and further down through two loops, finishing with a huge splash at the bottom!

When you’ve finished splashing around, you can have your senses surprised in the 4D cinema, spend time in the children's theme park, bounce on the many trampolines, laze in the shade of the trees or make a great meal in the barbeque area, where glowing coals are ready for you - completely free of charge. The whole family can also find their favourite dishes in our restaurants – either in the buffet restaurant or one of the many other eateries in the park. The latest eating place is a 100% organic restaurant.

Stay in Denmark's most fun forest

In May 2016, the 4-star hotel, Hotel Fårup, opened. The hotel is located in the middle of Fårup Sommerland and is a real family hotel, where the forest theme has been incorporated into the rooms. The rooms offer fantastic views of the lake, as well as “the Hurricane” and “the Falcon”.

In October 2015, Fårup Sommerland was named Europe’s second best amusement park by the international amusement park magazine, Kirmes & Park Revue.
